Summer Foreverever

Before moss (bright, thick, I-wish-were-edible moss like those below) starts growing in this neglected blog (again), allow me to brighten up your day (or not) and say...

My favorite photo from my Boracay trip with best bud Bry.  Say hello to his trunks. Palakasan ng loob. Hahaha.
Labanan ng abs, taob si Bry saken obviously.
Translation: Malubak sa Boracay. True Story. Hahaha.

Our picture-perfect backdrop: priceless. Just look at those refreshing colors. Sigh....
With the sweetest beach (bitch) couple: My good friend Khel & his "daddy" Paulo. They proved to me being a third wheel out of town can be fun. Make that awesome!

"Happiness is the sun French kissing my neon shirt." I said when I posted this in Facebook. Neon is the way to go. Hehehe.
Best part of our trip, us three: happy hour by the veach.

Chill, chill lang. Arte diba.
Epic fail. Hahaha. What are we doing here Khel?
Nataihan ng ibon ang peg.
Kaen galore. And I mean KAEN. Hello buffets diba Khel & Pau?

I have a confession to make (something only you, me, Khel & Pau know). Here it is: I'm a Russian gymnast. My real name is Chenkov Romanov. Again, true story. Ssshhh.
It's pretty ahhh-may-zzzzang.

Don't be over soon? Pretty please? :)

Doughnut Enter

I’d kill for doughnuts. I’d die for doughnuts. Man, I’d marry a doughnut if there’s a country or a planet where it’s legal.

You get it right? I’m addicted to doughnuts.  Hahaha. There’s not a day that passes by that I don’t stop, glance and smile at glass shelves filled with these heavenly roundies on my way home.  In a week, I’m pretty sure I stuff myself with about four to half a dozen on average. They’re pretty much the ones I spend my mornings, if not, after-work chill time with. My friends: Strawberry with candy sprinkles, Boston Kreme, Butternut, Oreo Cookies & Kreme, New York Cheesecake, and Glazed Vanilla Cake, I love ‘em… each in a unique way. Hehehe.

So, why am I cuckoo over doughnuts? Just ‘cause.

They’re sweet. They make me happy. :)

Back in high school, I used to love love Dunkin’ Donuts.  I remember buying those 2-pc. combo and pair it with a Sprite. Life happens with every bite. Oha exag diba. Those days when they’re still bigger than my hand and tasted better.  As a kid, it was what my Papa always brought home, too. When they “cheapened” Dunkin, they lost me. Then, GoNuts Donuts took its place in mah life. But not for long. Much more when Krispy Kreme came and showed us what real doughnuts are supposed to look and taste like.  I had a change of heart. It didn’t matter that it was a bit more expensive. Quality must be worth more right?

So when given the chance to spend one fine Saturday in doughnut heaven, I was more than elated! It was an instant YES for me when my friend Krissy asked if I’d be accepting the invite. More so when I learned that we’d be going to the new Krispy Kreme store in Alabang, opened just in time for its 75th birthday. I imagined we’d be rolling all day in all sorts of doughnuts, jumping up and down, throwing them in the air, riding them like boats, ala The Adventures of Sharkboy & Lava Girl (dude, what kind of movies are you watching?!). Okay ala Charlie & the Chocolate Factory. Better? Hahaha.
This Krispy Kreme store we all got the pleasure of "starting the party at" is the first Baked Creations Theater (meaning it’s the first here in Metro Manila that serves the brand’s signature Baked creations fresh from the oven, everyday plus it will dish up a full line of premium treats including of course, the world-famous original glazed doughnuts and signature coffee). And, and that ain’t all. It’s also the first to debut Krispy Kreme’s 75th birthday look. Lots of firsts right, what do you say to that?

The best part of the day? That moment that’d forever have a special place in my heart? OA ba? Hahaha. I got to “create” my own doughnut! The experience was just wonderful.  It was a nice break to the monotonous lie-on-the-floor-and-watch-tv weekends I’ve been having. Really. :)
Just look at how happy they make me. Doughnuts and Me. Me and doughnuts. At syempre marami akong tanong. Hehehe.
The finished product! Charrrannnn!
The little boy that made my day all the fun. Athan, our friend Ava's cute son was practically running around the store the whole time we were there. Sugar rush ba kamo? Hahaha.
The Krispy Kreme Baked Creations Theater is located at The Street where a dyamic mix of retail and dining establishments are found. And it’s open everyday from 7AM-11PM.
I really felt home when I was there. Makes me wanna rethink my career plans (like I really have plans). Oha. From doughnuts to career plans, labo labo na. I mean sometimes I imagine working in a doughnut store like Krispy Kreme. Being surrounded by delightful, yummy doughnuts every freakin’ day for the rest of mah life, it will be sweeeeet!

Oh, you will know if that doughnut dream ever happens.

sweet dreams,

eddii karueger

Disclaimer: I do not dress up or talk to doughnuts. I am tempted to. But that would be a different kind of crazy. Hahaha.
